Last summer we visited Yum! Kitchen and Bakery in Minneapolis and I think I tasted the best vanilla cupcake I've ever had. It was sooooo good. Will someone please bring me one for my birthday this summer? :) In fact, it was even better than Magnolia's in NYC (by the way, a great recipe for their cupcakes - and frosting - here).
If you like cupcakes too (why are they way better than cake if they are the same thing?), you will love Ming Makes Cupcakes. There are not just one, but 33 different cupcakes recipes. And these are much more fun than just plain chocolate or vanilla!
Here are some of my favorites...
Banana Cupcakes with Maple Brown Butter Frosting
Guinness Chocolate Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting
Blueberry Cupcakes with Maple Brown Butter Frosting
Sour Cream Chocolate Cupcakes with Nutella Frosting
Oh and one thing I learned about cupcakes. Don't make them too pretty. Because no one will eat them. I made these Martha Stewart Nesting Baby Bird cupcakes for a baby shower last summer. Only one person ate one...I think to be nice. :) And I didn't even tell them how many hours I spent making them. Too many. :)
