Blueberry Lipstick

Although it looks like she did, my baby did not get into my lipstick this morning.

She just proudly wears her blueberry baby food on her face.

Yummy!

When it comes to making baby food, I think the Beaba Babycook is so cool. A friend of mine got one as a gift and told me about it. It's cute, it's French, and it's from Williams Sonoma. It steams and blends. What's not to love? After looking for a deal on eBay, I came to the conclusion that IF I was going to spend that kind of money on a small kitchen appliance, I would probably spend it on this. So, I didn't get it. But I still love the Beaba Babycook. And I plan to have a big family, so I would use it a lot, right???

Anyway, the next best thing... I recently got the Magic Bullet instead. On Craigslist. For $20.

I've discovered that this is actually super handy when making baby food. I simply steam fruits and vegetables by microwaving them in the "bullet," then just put on the blade and blend. My favorite part is how easy it is to store the baby food once it's made by simply putting on the lid. No extra dirty dishes.

Recipe: Blueberry Baby Food

Put a handful of blueberries (washed) in a microwave-safe container with 1 tablespoon of water and cover with plastic wrap. Cook for 1.5 minutes, and let sit for about 5 minutes. Blend.

Watch-out...it's messy!

I am VERY jealous that you have that baby food maker!! Glad to know it works so well. Maybe Sophia will have to put it on her Christmas list. :)

I'd been eyeing that babyfood maker as well, but had heard that it was too small to really make a ton of food. Thanks for the rec of the Magic Bullet, I'll have to check that out!

I have a magic bullet too! I used to have a huge second hand food processor which I never used, and replaced it with the magic bullet which serves my purposes just fine. Works great for malts, too! :)
