Our Babymoon!

What is a babymoon, you might ask? Well, let me tell you! It's the last big trip that couples go on before having their first child. Similar to a honeymoon, but different!

We just happen to be taking our babymoon with Matthew and Kiley! This will be a great opportunity for us to relax and spend some time together before our lives change forever (in a good way, of course)! We are taking our trip early fall, so I will still be in my second trimester (I hear traveling is best at this time during pregnancy). Now, I realize I will have a few limitations. I will not be scuba diving, surfing, eating crazy street food, or drinking Piña Coladas! But hey, I have a pretty good excuse to relax and take it easy and...enjoy the food!

We're starting out in Puerto Rico, then are taking a Caribbean Cruise to 5 different islands - Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Maarten, and St. Thomas. Besides one day at sea, the ship travels at night, so we have all day to explore the islands. There are not many things I love to do more than traveling to new places, learning about new cultures, trying new food, and meeting new people. Not to mention sun, sand, and tropical islands! Now we're talking!

Have you been to any of these islands? Do you have previous cruising experience? I love recommendations! Also, any advice from those who have traveled during pregnancy before? Anything is appreciated!

Wow! You are a lucky girl! We honeymooned in St. Lucia and loved it! I'm not sure I have any recommendations for you since I'm not sure where you'll be. Its unlike other islands because it has mountains (or just big hills) and is very rainforest-like in the middle. Gorgeous!

I hope you guys have fun!! What a good idea to get away before your life changes! :)

You guys will have an awesome time. I have heard, and experienced with Micah that you can feel more sea sick than normal when you are pregnant so take your little wrist bands and any other natural remedies you find with you. Also I just have to say that not ALL the changes are good, but they are all worth it.

Sounds so fun! And so Kyle and Nealy! It's a great idea. You will love it.

Someone just told me you can't take a cruise after your 6th month of pregnancy check it out with your doctor. I don't know for sure.

We had planned a small "babymoon" before Abbie was born that we didn't get to take because Peter lost his job at the same time but we made every effort to just enjoy the time we had together before she was born. EVERYTHING will change after your baby is born (mostly for the good) so enjoy all your time together now whether it be something small like grocery shopping or a sweet vacation in St. Lucia. Have a ton of fun!!!

We have been on that very same cruise. It's a fantastic time. We loved St. Lucia so much that we went back and stayed 8 days at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian resort. St. Lucia has great snorkeling but they also hava volcano you can visit and the pitans are amazing. St. Maarten has great shopping and we did the island tour there. St. Thomas was nice for snorkeling and the beaches. Try the catamaren cruise in Antigua. Have fun! It will be a blast!
